These are my favourite outfit photos I think I’ve ever shot. Ever, ever, ever.
They were super last minute. Debs got out of jury duty early, she text me, I whipped some nail polish on my toes and drove down to Colchester in flip flops (they still smudged, FFS), with my hair laden with dry shampoo and a Tesco bag for life rammed with the new River Island petite collection perched on the passenger seat.
We shot just outside Castle Park (which just FYI, is where Chris and I had our first date) just as golden hour set in. It was unseasonably warm, there was no wind, and it was the eve of my blog relaunch.
I felt as glittery as my blog logo. It was absolute aces.
And as I tottered about in a pair of brilliantly high gold party heels, Debs was like: ‘You. Are. Back. You’re on top form with your posing’.
And I felt back. I felt the most me I’d felt in forever. So I really hope you like these photos and outfits as much as I do.
THE DAY OUTFIT
Everything about this makes up my perfect day-to-day autumn outfit. Leopard print? Check. Cute fluffy bobble hat? Check. Super comfy petite jeans? Check. Statement shoes with a little heel that make me feel sassy and sophisticated? Check.
I mean, if it was a little colder (like it is at the moment) I’d probably sneak in a chunky roll neck jumper to keep my chest warm and my nan happy. (Is it just my nan that’s obsessed with people keeping their chests warm?!)
If you read my Friday HG charts post last week you’ll have seen how happy haps I am with these jeans from River Island’s brand spanking new petite range. When they arrived I was like LOL they will not fit on my super size toosh, but they have so much give and feel softer than my cat’s belly.
Currently eyeing up the black ripped jeggings online…
THE NIGHT TIME OUTFIT
I was still wearing this dress when I got home from shooting and opened the door to the Tesco delivery man in it and he was all ‘oooh very Halloween-y’. So yeah, I think that means he liked it.
I’m a big fan of any kind of embroidery or beading so these cute stars are 102% my jam – AND although this frock is on the short side (because hey, it’s from the petite range) it does also come in a standard length as well as in RI plus.
It’s the perfect Christmas party dress. The shape is simple enough that I’d feel confident even on an off-day, whilst the jazzy details make it eye-catching and full of sass.
Also, this glitter bag <3 I bought it a couple of months ago, and it still makes me smile every time I bring it out to play.
