Two Ways To Style The Gingham Midi Skirt

Unless you’ve been living in a really nice den decorated with fairy lights, nachos and a Nintendo 64 since the start of 2017 and you’ve had a strict no internet rule, you’ll have spied that gingham is everywhere this season.

I mean OK, it’s not everywhere. It’s not on your pizza and it’s not on your car, but it is plastered across every new-in shopping section the interweb has to offer.

Gingham heels, gingham jumpsuits, gingham bardot tops, gingham frill hem trousers and HELLO gingham midi skirts.

If you’ve been following this blog for longer than about 37 seconds you’ll know that this girl loves a midi skirt nearly as much as she loves cats.

So for this post I thought I’d style up a super cute navy gingham style from La Redoute – who, just FYI, have a very sassy 40% off EVERYTHING online with code BIG40 which runs out on the 29th June 2017.

Happy shopping and that.

SO, onto outfits…

THE SHIRT AND HEELS

There ain’t no better office summer outfit than a white shirt, a midi skirt and a pair of heels that say I’m a v v important business woman and I’m going to take over the world, so long sucker. (Obvs said heels are best kept under your desk because lol ain’t nobody want to commute to work in anything that makes public transport more painful in searing heat).

On and side note, I am very much feeling this tropical lil bag from La Redoute. It’s not quite a straw beach bag and it’s not quite a canvas tote bag, it’s more as my friend Debs described it ‘a very, very cool knitting bag’. I’ll take that. It’s edgy and happy and just looks like it wants a little passion fruit mojito to keep it company.

THE T-SHIRT AND SANDALS

Y’know me, love a slogan tee and a pop of red so this little combo was a bit of a no brainer. Plus, the shoes are *technically* heels but they feel like flats so I mean win, win if you’re 5ft 2 and always looking at people’s necks.

This is my kind of bank holiday weekend outfit – made for drinking Pimm’s, ordering sharing platters and actually forgetting to refresh Instagram for the 72nd time that day.
