I promise I’ll stop writing posts that make your bank account glare at you like the red angry face emoji soon.
I mean, that’s a lie, I won’t. Because I am loving fashion content at the moment, so soz not soz. If it’s any consolation, the money I was saving for a sofa is quickly disappearing, so we’re all in the same boat here.
Anyway, I thought I’d lay out a few of my fave fash trends at the moment – I had them in my head already but then I did a quick scroll through the new-in sections of Topshop and ASOS’s website to make sure I was hip and happening and down with the kids IRL and not just in my head.
Turns out yep, still got it.
So without further ado, these are the fashion trends I am all over in 2017, which one’s your fave?
I’ve been a fan of midi skirts since I snapped up my first one about five years ago (bright pink, from Topshop, and still in my wardrobe although ahem, a bit too tight to wear out the house these days – I’m saving it for when I start liking the gym or get a sickness bug or something…), so naturally when these started cropping up all over the high street, I was all over them like a Pumpkin Spiced Latte.
My fave out of my absurdly-quickly growing collection is this Cinderella-blue one from ASOS. It comes in a petite size (the one in this snap is not petite and as you can see, it’s v long) and a curve size, and is available in an abundance of colours.
Wear with: I’ve been tucking in cute fine knit jumpers or wearing plain slouchy t-shirts. Shoe-wise anything strappy will look babin’, whether that’s a v high heel for date night or a pair of flats for day.
There are several reasons I want to stand up and make a public declaration for my love of longer-than-average winter coats. First up, they’re super warm which makes them practical enough for your nan, and secondly they’re super flattering because of the long silhouette they create.
I’ve been living in this New Look coat, which is sadly sold out in camel but available in a couple of other colours here (faux fur is detachable), and I *may* have accidentally placed a new year, same sassy Hannah order on this pink River Island beauty.
Wear with: TRAINERS, for a cute downtime look. And then either jeans because classic, or a leather mini and tights. OH and a big grey scarf for extra cosiness.
Gingham seems to be everywhere for spring, but not just any gingham – wild, funky shaped gingham. Origami gingham. Statement gingham. There’s abstract trousers and abstract blouses and well, and zomg just found this gingham culotte jumpsuit and be still my beating heart.
Wear with: Keep things v simple for the rest of your outfit because the gingham pieces cropping up for 2017 are pretty blinkin’ statement. Thing jeans, plain t-shirts and biker jackets.
Lord have mercy, painful feet are a thing to be left in 2016. Halle-frickin-lujah.
Midi heels have been floating about for a bit, but there’s so many cute styles landing on the internet at the moment and I’m smitten. I had a shoe-drobe clear out before Christmas and only left one pair of mega high heels (these glitter ASOS ones), the rest are all this midi height. Easy to walk in, yet add a bit of sass to an outfit.
This River Island pair are now sold out but the silver version (which I really, really want) are in the sale.
Wear with: EVERYTHING IN YOUR WARDROBE, cept maybe your gym clothes obvs.
