March’s Super Duper Homeware Wish List

IMGP1752

Here’s a fun fact for you all – I get paid quarterly. Which means once every three months I get this mammoth pay cheque landing in my bank account which makes me feel like a bazillionaire and makes me do things like go insane in IKEA and buy all the things in H&M home. It also means that I panic accept pieces of freelance work as the months between pay day tick by because it’s one thing making your pay cheque stretch a month, but three? It’s bloody terrifying.

I mention this to you in this post because pay day is less than a month away, which means I’m already on the hunt for sneaky little homeware pieces I can buy to really add some finishing touches to our home. And all the stock has been replenished since my last interior attack back in January and so naturally, once again I’m enticed by everything pretty and wire basket-y and cat/fox/rabbit orientated and everything cushion-related.

Mostly I’m seriously excited by the range at George at Asda of late, most notably their Prince’s Trust collaboration which I spotted online. Some of the best pieces keep selling out and coming back (like the dream yellow pineapple lamp which is THE yellow-themed accessory I’ve been hunting for to complete our bedroom for MONTHS – and the cute grey and bronze slogan cushion which *might* need to go on the sofa downstairs). It’s supermarket cheap, but also fun.

I also really feel like we should, in general, have more pom poms in life, hence why I included this H&M blanket and Oliver Bonas garland. Whilst the blanket is the sort of chic, grown-up thing Chris probably wouldn’t flinch at if I bought and insisted on throwing across the bed – the garland is a little bit less, erm, conventional. I just feel like it would add a jazzy, fun ‘I’M A COOL ADULT, A REALLY COLD AND DOWN WITH THE KIDS ADULT’ vibe to my office. That sounds dodgy, but you know what I mean, it’ll just make the space EVEN more fun.

Oh and also that rabbit is a vase, AN ACTUAL VASE. I need it. Oh and lava lamps in about 8 colours are currently on sale in Asda, so there’s that fantastic news as well.

You get paid quarterly like in an affiliate sense, yikes. I might be 24 but I am still not finding myself spending money on the house, I love Ikea (I have memoires as kid playing in their indoor play centre whilst my parents went shopping), but spending money on the house has not happened yet, spare money goes on me and nights out still. The transition from student to adult has been a slow one for me.

  • Home decor style on point girl! Obsessed with the pillows that you picked out, and, yes, the vase is amazing as well. So jealous and wishing I had an apartment big enough now to fit all the decor!!

I love all of these, especially the pineapple lamp. You must have great will power being able to last three months. I’d have to go into hiding until it was over as I’m a bit of an impulse buyer
