Everyone is wearing them. They are cool. They are sassy. But because of my generous calves and thighs and seriously dwarf-like 5 ft 2 height, I thought that over-the-knee boots would be a fashion trend that I’d have to watch sail off into the distance with all the leggy size 8 pretty bloggers drinking champagne on some sort of exclusive yacht.
So these little princesses are from Duo, who specialise in boots with a variety of calf sizes which means if you’re calves are, err, slightly bigger (or smaller) than the average fashion blogger or Mollie King, you too can find boots that actually zip up without creating a leg muffin top. Or, y’know cutting off all circulation and causing immense pain, like when you keep a slightly too-tight hair band on your wrist for too long. Ouch.
This is my first fashion post using my sexy new camera and I didn’t realise how much difference it would make. I feel like I’ve conquered the world, become a professional and it feels damn good. My back garden photoshoot with my boyfriend took about 7 minutes. I deleted half the photos, the ones with my eyes closed or the ones from a slight dodgy angle and that was that. With my iPhone there’s usually tonnes more faffing about and moaning about how grotesque and bulbous I look, so I reckon he’s pretty happy about how much easier life has got.
My next plan is to invest in a tripod and play around with the timer settings so I can spend my weekdays playing Hannah dress up and photo shoot like a year 7 who just REALLY wants to be in Mizz magazine. No but seriously, I used to do this. Just me? Oh right, OK, awkward.
And err, yeah, you’ll be shocked to see my cream chunky knit making another appearance, not. It’s not the most flattering thing I’ve ever owned, but it’s the most snuggly, and i’ve worn it for about 30 per cent of December. I can’t find it online, but I snapped it up a few weeks ago for £11 from New Look.
Oh and also, I’M WEARING LIPGLOSS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ABOUT THREE YEARS. It’s Bobbi Brown’s Nude Pink.
