Outfit of the week #5

Trying to take nice outfit pics in a pretty average garden just after a torrential downpour was never going to be pretty. So sorry, guys!

This outfit is a homage to my 2014 love affair with leopard print. I’m obsessed with it in every shape and form at the moment and I feel like i’m very late to the party.

It came into fashion a couple of years ago post Kat Slater era and I was sure it was a fad that would soon go away and I didn’t indulge the high street by buying into it. Fast forward to now and i’m literally snapping it up in every style – in the past month I’ve bought boots, a sweatshirt, bag, t-shirt, underwear… SOMEONE MAKE IT STOP.

This is a pretty standard weekday in London outfit for me – comfortable and layered up ready to battle the different temperatures that range from Arctic way home temperatures on Greater Anglia, and baking hot battling-the-crowds heat in Tottenham Court Road’s Primark store.

My coat is an old favourite from Very.co.uk – it’s light and perfect for Autumn and I love the monochrome colours.

The sweatshirt is new and already a wardrobe classic. Mostly because I’m living in sweatshirts and floral trackies at the moment as part of my working-from-home wardrobe. I love the dark blue base colour which makes it a slightly more chic take on the classic leopard print.

So, this leather mini is also new. I know a couple of you had commented before saying how much you appreciate investing in real leather over PU, so I did it. I went and splashed at Miss Selfridge for this little pretty baby, and i’m pretty darn happy with the results.

My leather jacket is also Miss Selfridge, but the best bit about this skirt? THE ZIP UNDOES FROM TOP TO BOTTOM WHICH MEANS YOU CAN UNDO IT WHEN YOU HAVE A FOOD BABY.

Mostly i’m planning on wearing it for about 76% of December teamed with Christmas jumpers, my leopard boots and hoards of mulled wine and party food. Oh fuck, I’m excited for December and the festive season.

My outfit this week is polished off with a few wardrobe go-tos including my eBay envelope clutch and my Kurt Geiger boots. I always forget how much I love these boots until I wear them because in my head they’re totally flat – they’re not. The heal height gives my stubby legs a bit of a lift, but they feel like flats to walk in which is perfect for trotting about in the capital.

Had to actually stop myself writing London Town then. Vom. LONDON IS NOT A TOWN.

Sadly i’m back in my tights which makes me a bit sad because I go through so many because i’m forever catching them on jewellery, and also, because i’m a believer that almost every outfit is made better with a bare tanned leg rather than a sheer black tight. But then what do I really know…

And yes, before you ask, I seriously had to stop myself wearing my leopard boots with this outfit. Lolz.
