My first pair of little treasures are my Valentine’s present. Tasty little expensive jewels straight from my very colourful wishlist. I love them, they combine this season’s tasty ice cream colour trend with wearable colours, plus they’re super comfy with their platform and chunky heels. I wore them to dinner last night (a gorgeous little Mexican in Enfield that did some INCREDIBLE chorizo and olive nachos, yum yum yum) with dark green skinny jeans rolled up and a slightly baggy plain white t-shirt. I accessorized with a long thin gold chain and my vintage oversized black clutch, which was an amazing buy, mostly because it’s got so many compartments I could take my entire life out with my should I please – emergency nutri-grain, full-size make-up bag and some flats for when my Chinese Laundry (from New Look) heels give me blisters.
My second pair of shoes are less obviously beautiful. I picked them up for £4.99 from my local Oxfam in Rustington, West Sussex. Not only are they Laura Ashley and bound to last a very long time, but they’re more comfortable than any heels I’ve ever owned. Ok, so this may have something to do with the teeny chunky kitten heel (kitten heel? I KNOW, mental) but I can even see me wearing these during the day, for events I may have to actually stand. I’m trialling them on Monday at LFW, which could be a horrific mistake. I’m going to pair them with a pair of olive turn up trousers and a very simple top, but we’ll see.
